"Perlas Negras" is a short video filmed in the town of San Jose about an hour outside Havana. Directed by Manuel Almenares and Lisandra Alvarez, the film follows a group of Carboneros as they build an earthen pile as they make carbon (charcoal) to sell locally as cooking fuel and for government export.
